A New Independent Professional Baseball League Is Born

SAN JUAN, PR - The Board of Directors representing the development of Puerto Rico's first independent professional baseball league, proudly announcing the launch of the Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League ("PRIBL"). The League plans to kick off its inaugural season in March 2021 and is expected to host 4 teams.

The League's inaugural season will feature a 30-games scheduled to begin in the third week of March and will wrap up in the last week of April with the top three teams advancing to the playoffs in hopes of being crowned League Champion.

Seasoned sports executive Carlos Núñez who is tasked with leading the League’s business, had this to say about the start-up Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League, "Since the year 2013, we've been talking about the creation of an independent professional baseball league for Puerto Rico and now that we have completed the planning stage is time to proceed".

Like many premier independents professional baseball leagues, the Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League will be seeking the highest level of talent available. For this, we have designed a unique evaluation system that will provide any player with the opportunity to compete for a roster spot.
